Does anyone know how Yahoo determines position eligibility?
Brady Tkachuk has won 138 FOW this season so far in 45 GP. He had 118 last season, 144 the season before, so he obviously has played a lot of center, yet he is only listed as LW.
A guy like Jonathan Drouin won 30 FOW this season, 21 last year, 4 the year before, and 37 the year before that, giving him a total of 92 FOW the last 4 years combined (less than Brady has in 45 GP this season alone), yet he has center eligibility.
Why is that? Is there a way to correct it?

A winger can take face offs when the Center is thrown out of the circle, on a rare occasion a dman can even take a face off. Yahoo determines eligibility based on position, so if a winger takes a faceoff then after the draw return to the wing it wouldn’t count, they would have to be placed on the lineup card as a Center and yahoo gives eligibility for position after 10 games where the player is listed as playing in that position;
To the best of my understanding.

I should also add that some teams allow wingers to take draws over centers with poor faceoff ability. So faceoff saline aren’t the determining factor, it’s solely based on the lineups. A player who plays 10 games gains eligibility and keeps it for the following season, but after a season where they haven’t been listed as that position for 10 games they lose the eligibility.

I agree, but I don't think that Brady's center has been kicked out of the faceoff circle 138 times in 45 games. And actually, just noticed too that I wrote how many faceoff wins, not faceoffs. He actually took 266 faceoffs this year in 45 GP (which is an average of 6 faceoffs per game). I also know for a fact that Drouin hasn't been considered a center in the lineup for a few years with the possible exception of a couple of games.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks Josh! Still not sure if it makes sense to me but I guess it is what it is.
